The Internet a Decade Later

Infographic for The Internet a Decade Later

About this infographic

It took 12.5 minutes to download a song in 2002, now it takes on average 18 seconds. The average internet usage has grown in a decade from 46 minutes per day in 2002 to 4 hours a day. This infographic is full of interesting and amazing facts on the changes in the internet arena: the usage, technologies and importance in our daily lives. A rather unusual infographic, as it uses animated GIFs to visualize the data or animate the supporting images. Apart from the amazing facts on usage and speed changes, my most interesting take away was the fact that in the ten years between 2002 and 2012 there has been no fundamental change to the design structure of Apple’s apple.com!

ADVICE: Click on the infographic to see the larger version with the built in animations, otherwise you’ll miss some data!
