About this infographic
Ever wondered where the loneliest place on Earth is? This great info graphic shows that nicely using the familiar world map as a basis. The map was divided up into a grid, each grid cell being the same size in the physical world, and then each grid cell was expanded to represent the time it takes to get to the nearest city with a population of 50,000+. I really like the way this data visualization has been done!
The infographic map originally appeared in Lonely Planet’s book How to Land a Jumbo Jet, a visual exploration of travel facts, figures and ephemera.
