About this infographic
Attending a college or university represents a significant investment for families. The data visualization in this infographic hits home this fact in a compelling way, starting with the relative rise in college and tuition fees against the Consumer Price Index (CPI), median family income and even medical care costs. I really like the section Net College Costs as a Percentage of Median Family Income, which visualizes in a clever way the change over an 8 year period, and how the rise has hit the lower income families especially hard. My surprise take-away: Student loan debt reached $830 billion in 2010, more than credit card debt in America!
