World Population by Latitude and Longitude

Infographic for World Population by Latitude and Longitude

About this infographic

Roughly 88% of the world’s population lives in the northern hemisphere. Half the population lives north of 27 degrees longitude, which is roughly the line from northern Mexico, through southern Morocco, Egypt, southern Pakistan, Nepal and Taiwan. Different to most infographics showcased here, this data visualization has next to no supporting text. The beautiful purple overlays are effective in showing the sums of the population per latitude or longitude, the faint gray worldmap helping one to place the data geographically.
